Why Piano?

It is a fact that learning music increases one’s IQ as it uses hand-eye coordination and enforces pattern recognition.

Music, like sports, is an important part of every child’s learning. You would encourage your kids to learn a sport right? Why not introduce them to music as well?

The piano is the single most versatile instrument in the world. With 88 keys, 3 pedals, and a range of seven and a quarter octaves, the piano is the most popular instrument internationally. It is capable of playing classical, pop, jazz, blues, and even rock music. Many places all over the world, including hotels, restaurants, and malls have pianos available for people to showcase their talent, making it the best choice for musical instruments.

Many people believe a piano is expensive. That is not true. You can get an old piano for a few hundred dollars. Just be willing to pay for a tuner to check out the piano. Pianos should be tuned as often as they are played. Buy a good brand and you can save on tuning (just don’t wait more than 3 years). You can find tuners who charge less than $100.

Like every sport and skill, you must spend a bit of money on good equipment. But the rewards are far greater than the cost.

"That's how music is. You hear something you like and you wanna play like that."
-Wynton Marsalis on jazz music
